- Created Tube Furnace (part): "Fires samples in flowing oxygen or argon, or under rough vacuum, inside a sealed work tube. Heated length of 150 to 300 mm with a uniform zone longer than the boat, a 50 mm work tube and a rating matched to the tube (1100 °C quartz, 1400 to 1500 °C alumina)."
