Overview

The order picker is an electric warehouse truck that raises the operator instead of the pallet. The picker stands on a guarded platform that rises up the lift mast to the rack level being worked, picks individual cases by hand, and places them on a pallet riding the load deck alongside. This man-up approach suits split-case and each-pick fulfilment in high-bay racking, where picking whole pallets would be wasteful. The machine reaches 10.5 m of pick height in a 1500 mm wire-guided aisle and carries 1000 kg of accumulated picks.

The truck rides on a counterweighted Chassis that carries the side-access battery bay, the traction drive, and the foot of the mast. A 48 V Li-ion Traction Battery supplies both the AC traction and lift drives through the Controller Bank, and the cast counterweight balances the moment of a raised operator and load.

How it works

The Mast Assembly is a telescoping rail set whose guide rollers and leaf chains raise the Operator Platform, the operator's powered cab. The platform carries an anti-slip floor, folding side guard rails with travel interlocks, and a rated anchor for the operator's fall-arrest harness. Lift is produced hydraulically: the Lift Hydraulic Unit runs an AC motor and gear pump that feed a single-acting cylinder through a proportional valve block, so the operator can creep the platform precisely to shelf height.

From the Operator Compartment, the picker steers, drives, and lifts. A color touch display built around the Operator Display shows pick height and battery state, twin Hall-effect grips command lift and lower, and travel and lift are enabled only while the Deadman Pedal is held, an operator-presence interlock that stops the truck if the picker steps off. Steering is by electric power steering through the Steering Unit.

Drive comes from the Traction Drive Unit, a steered polyurethane wheel turned by an AC motor and a two-stage gearbox, with a spring-applied electromagnetic brake. Support load wheels and swivel casters carry the load end of the chassis. In narrow aisles the Sensor Pack adds a lift-height encoder and an inductive wire-guidance antenna that tracks a guide wire buried in the floor, letting the truck auto-steer down the aisle so the operator concentrates on picking.
