Electric Pasta Maker Product

Overview

An electric pasta maker is a kitchen appliance that combines dough mixing, heating, and extrusion in a single machine. It accepts flour, water, eggs, and salt through the Dough Hopper, kneads them in a heated Mixing Chamber, and continuously pushes the dough through an interchangeable Die Insert Set to form pasta strands or shapes.

The machine's core is its heavy-duty AC Induction Motor, which drives both the Spiral Mixing Blade inside the chamber and the Tapered Extrusion Screw at the die head. A Reduction Gearbox reduces the motor speed to a slow, powerful rotation—around 50 RPM—that suits both gentle kneading and consistent extrusion pressure.

The Mixing Chamber is a heated steel barrel lined with spiral ribs. As the mixing blade rotates, it presses and folds the dough against the barrel wall, building gluten structure and warming it to 50–60°C through the Heating System. Once fully hydrated and warm, the dough is forced forward by the Tapered Extrusion Screw, a tapered spiral that compresses it progressively and rams it through the die.

Die blocks are standardized: a user swaps a Die Block Holder to change shapes. The extrusion pressure—typically 5–8 bar—is managed passively by dough viscosity and the screw pitch profile.

How it works

Electrical power enters through the Control Panel, where a Microcontroller on a Bare PCB interprets user commands via Membrane Button Pad or a simple LCD Panel. The MCU gates AC power to the main AC Induction Motor via a Relay, and separately commands the Heating Element through a second relay and an overtemp cutout Thermal Fuse.

The AC Induction Motor is a standard three-phase (or single-phase capacitor-run) induction motor. Its Stator Assembly carries main and auxiliary windings; the Rotor Assembly (squirrel-cage aluminum bars) spins inside the Motor Housing. Once running at nominal slip, the motor shaft passes through Ball Bearings and couples to the Reduction Gearbox.

The gearbox contains a set of helical Helical Gear Pairs and planetary stages in a Gearbox Housing, stepping down the motor's 1450 RPM to approximately 50 RPM at the gearbox output. Oil circulation through Oil Seals keeps the mesh cool and quiet. The output shaft is the Main Drive Shaft, which forks to simultaneously turn the mixing blade and the extrusion screw via simple shaft couplings.

Temperature regulation is closed-loop. A NTC Temperature Sensor (NTC type) sits inside the Stainless Steel Barrel and reports to the MCU. When temperature falls below the set point, the MCU energizes the Heating Element relay. Once the NTC sees 60°C, the MCU deenergizes. If temperature ever exceeds 80°C (a hardware safety margin), the Thermal Fuse opens and cuts power entirely, requiring inspection and reset.

User interface is minimal: Membrane Button Pad for "Mix", "Extrude", and "Stop" modes, plus a simple LCD Panel showing the chamber temperature and any fault codes. In Extrude mode, the screw speed is fixed (determined by the gearbox ratio); the only tuning is dough hydration and the die choice.

As the user feeds dough in, the Spiral Mixing Blade pulls it down and forward in short strokes, kneading it continuously. The forward pressure gradually builds until the dough column reaches the extrusion screw. The screw then takes over, compressing the dough against the Die Insert Set and forcing it through the orifices. Fresh pasta emerges at the die face and can be caught or hung on a drying rack.
