ADAS Sensor Suite
AssemblyAn ADAS sensor suite observes the vehicle's surroundings so assistance software can distinguish a nearby obstacle from a lane marking, another vehicle, or open road. The suite in this BOM combines camera modules, radar modules, and ultrasonic sensors. These are complementary measurements, not three interchangeable ways of taking a picture.
Cameras provide visual information for recognizing objects and road markings. Radar supplies information about object position and relative motion. Ultrasonic sensors cover the immediate surroundings, particularly during parking. Bosch describes these different roles in its sensor technology overview. Combining their outputs also requires processing and software; the sensor list alone does not describe a complete driving function.
The useful design distinction is coverage versus sensor count. More units do not, by themselves, establish what the vehicle can detect or which assistance functions it supports. Bosch's Ally.Move architecture illustrates how configurations change with the required driving and parking functions.
BOMwiki includes this assembly within the crossover SUV, minivan, and other vehicle examples. Their shared link describes the catalog's component relationships, not proof that production vehicles use an identical package. Quantities here are illustrative. A real configuration needs vehicle-specific placement, integration, and validation; this generic BOM is not a certified ADAS design.
