Canister Vacuum Product

Overview

The canister vacuum splits the machine in two: a wheeled body that holds the motor, dust bag, filters, and cord reel, and a flexible hose-and-wand line that the operator handles. Keeping the heavy parts in a rolling canister behind the operator makes the working end light and easy to steer under furniture and up stairs. A powered floor head at the end of the wand adds the carpet agitation that a plain suction nozzle lacks.

The machine runs from mains power through a retractable cord. A single bypass motor develops the vacuum, debris collects in a disposable bag, and two filters clean the air before it leaves the body.

How it works

Suction comes from the Suction Motor, a bypass universal motor whose centrifugal impeller pulls air through the whole line while a separate cooling path keeps its windings cool. The vacuum reaches the floor through the Suction Hose and Telescoping Wand, a swivel-cuffed hose and a telescoping wand that also carries power out to the head.

At the floor, the Powered Floor Head does the deep cleaning. A small motor turns a brush bar through a belt, agitating carpet pile so grit lifts into the airflow; a swivel neck lets the nozzle follow the operator's path.

Debris is captured in the Dust Bag & Bin. The dirt-laden air enters a disposable fleece bag held by a sprung collar that seals it to the inlet duct; the bag traps debris and seals itself shut when pulled for disposal. Air leaving the bag passes the Filter Set, a pre-motor filter that protects the motor and a sealed HEPA element that cleans the exhaust.

Power management is handled by the Retractable Cord Reel, a spring-loaded reel that winds the mains cord back into the body through slip-ring contacts, and by the Control Board, which sets motor speed from the handle slider and switches the floor head. The whole body rolls on swivel casters so it trails the operator without tipping.
