Water-Fed Pole System

Product

Overview

A water-fed pole system cleans windows and glass surfaces on buildings up to 30 feet tall without chemicals, ladders, or a harness. Pure deionized (DI) water is pumped up through a carbon-fiber pole and sprayed onto glass from a brush head, instantly drying spotless because the water leaves no minerals. The system is used by professional window cleaners, facility managers, and solar panel installers, who value the speed (one person can clean a five-story facade in an hour), safety (no heights), and streak-free results. The core components are a Filtration Cart that sits at ground level producing spotless water, a Pump and Control Board pressurizing it, a motorized Hose Reel feeding the hose, and the lightweight Telescoping Pole pole with Brush Head Assembly.

The filtration cart is a large mobile unit holding 150–500 liters of water and a multi-stage RO/DI filter stack. Mains water enters through a sediment filter, then passes through activated carbon to remove chlorine and organics, then through a reverse-osmosis (RO) membrane that blocks dissolved minerals, and finally through deionization (DI) resin cartridges that polish out the last parts per million. The Pump and Control Board draws this pure water from the cart and pressurizes it to 500 PSI, which is enough to push it up 30 feet of pole with some pressure left for the spray jets. The Hose Reel is a motorized spool holding 100–150 feet of reinforced hose, with an automatic shutoff that stops the reel when the hose is fully extended, preventing over-pull. The operator picks up the pole, locks sections together using quick-lock rings, attaches the brush head to the coupler, and begins spraying. Water flows down the outside of the hose, and a separate suction line inside the hose draws the wastewater and mist back down to the cart's waste tank.

How it works

Before a job, the operator fills the cart with mains water and switches on the pump and RO/DI system; after 5–10 minutes of filtering, the system is ready. Pressing a foot pedal or valve on the pump delivers pressurized pure water to the pole. The operator swings the telescope pole to the desired height and angle, and the Brush Head Assembly nozzles spray water onto the glass while the soft bristles agitate. The water wets the surface and runs off, carrying dirt, and because it is pure DI water with zero minerals, it air-dries clear with no streaks. The inside vacuum line pulls the wastewater back to the cart to be discarded, keeping the building facade dry below. The reel pays out hose as the operator steps back, and pulls it back in when the operator advances forward. For a skyscraper with 500+ windows, a two-person crew using this system can clean it in one or two days, versus two weeks for a traditional ladder approach. Maintenance involves changing RO and DI cartridges monthly or quarterly, flushing the hose, and draining the cart to prevent bacterial growth in standing water.
