Drip Irrigation Kit Product

Overview

A drip irrigation kit delivers water slowly and directly to plant roots, reducing waste and suppressing weeds. The Main Supply Tubing connects to a spigot or pump and carries full flow through a bed. Lateral Drip Tubing branch off, carrying water at lower volume to individual Drip Emitter emitters positioned at each plant base. A Battery Timer automates watering frequency; a Pressure Regulator stabilizes pressure so each emitter delivers consistent flow; and a Filter Assembly prevents sediment from clogging the fine passages inside emitters.

The system operates at low pressure (10–40 psi)—well below pop-up sprinkler systems—so hose walls are thinner, components are smaller, and installation is faster and less invasive. No trenching is needed; tubing can be laid on top of mulch or soil, held in place by Emitter Stake stakes.

How it works

Water enters through the Main Tubing and encounters the Pressure Regulator, which opens a Diaphragm until downstream pressure matches the spring setpoint (typically 25 psi), then throttles to maintain that constant outlet pressure regardless of inlet fluctuations. This is critical: if input pressure varies (as from a hand-held hose), the regulator absorbs the variation and holds emitter flow constant.

The regulated water flows through the Filter Assembly, whose Filter Screen traps particles larger than 150 microns. Any caught sediment is rinsed away by opening the Filter Cap periodically.

At each emitter location, the Lateral Tubing is punctured with a Hole Punch Tool tool, and a Drip Emitter is inserted (or ordered pre-installed with emitters at factory spacing). Most Drip Emitter emitters are pressure-compensated: an internal spring-loaded valve maintains a nearly constant 25 psi across a small orifice, so each emitter outputs its rated flow (0.5–2 gal/hour) regardless of line pressure or elevation changes along the lateral. The Battery Timer gates water on and off by a solenoid in its body, opening drip-irrigation-kit-solenoid-valve once per day for a user-set duration (15–60 minutes typical).

Micro-bubblers or Micro Bubbler units mount on risers at shrub and tree bases, delivering a circular mist rather than point droplets, useful for wider wetting.
