Lawn Edger Product

Overview

A lawn edger cuts a clean, defined groove between turf and a hard surface — the strip of bare line you see along driveways, paths and flower beds. Unlike a mower's horizontal blade, an edger spins a blade in a vertical plane so it slices straight down into the soil. This model is a wheeled walk-behind petrol unit: the engine drives the blade through a belt while the operator walks it along the edge, guiding it with a curb wheel.

The Petrol Engine is a 163 cc air-cooled overhead-valve petrol unit. A Recoil Starter cranks it, a float-bowl Carburetor meters the fuel-air mixture, and the Spark Plug fires the charge. The crankshaft drives a pulley that feeds the blade.

How it works

The Blade Assembly does the cutting. A V-belt (Drive Belt) runs from the engine pulley to the Pulley Set on the blade Blade Spindle, spinning the vertical Edger Blade at full engine speed. As the operator advances, the blade's edge severs grass roots and soil, leaving a crisp trench. A Blade Guard surrounds the blade to contain the soil and small stones it throws.

How deep the line cuts is set by the Depth Control: a Depth Lever raises or lowers the blade against the Depth Wheel, which rides the surface as a reference. A side Curb Guide Wheel rolls along the path edge so the cut stays straight without constant steering.

Construction

The engine and blade housing mount on the Frame & Wheels, a welded steel frame riding on its running Wheel Assembly pair. The operator works from the Shaft & Handle, where a Throttle Control sets engine speed and Control Cables carry that to the carburetor. The spindle turns on sealed Ball Bearing supports, and the machine is bolted together with a common Fastener Set.
