Lawn Aerator Product
Overview
Lawns get compacted by foot traffic and mowing, which squeezes air and water out of the soil and chokes grass roots. A core aerator relieves this by pulling thousands of small plugs of soil out of the turf, opening channels for air, water and fertiliser. This model is a self-propelled petrol machine: it drives itself forward while a drum of hollow tines repeatedly punches into the ground.
The Petrol Engine is an air-cooled overhead-valve petrol unit started by a Recoil Starter, fed by a float-bowl Carburetor, and fired by the Spark Plug. Its crankshaft drives both the tine drum and the wheels through the transmission.
How it works
The working part is the Coring Tine Drum. Rows of hollow Coring Tine spoons are mounted on arms around a central shaft. As the drum rotates and the machine rolls, each tine stabs into the turf, fills with a plug of soil, and ejects that core onto the surface as it swings back up. Because the tines are hollow they remove material rather than just poking holes, which is what actually relieves compaction.
Drive comes through the Belt & Gear Drive. A Drive Belt takes engine power to a Helical Gear Pair reduction, and a chain carries that to the heavy drum while a clutch lets the operator stop coring without stopping the engine. To push the tines deeper, a Weight Tray over the drum holds removable ballast so the coring depth stays consistent in firm ground.
Construction
Everything mounts on the Chassis & Wheels, a welded frame riding on driven Wheel Assembly wheels with turf Tire treads. The operator walks behind the Handle & Controls, setting speed with the throttle and squeezing a drive bail to engage propulsion. The drum turns on sealed Ball Bearing supports and the machine is bolted with a shared Fastener Set.
