Brush Cutter Product

Overview

A brush cutter is the heavy-duty relative of a string trimmer: where a trimmer whips grass with nylon line, a brush cutter can also spin a steel blade to clear brambles, tough weeds and finger-thick saplings. This model is a shoulder-carried petrol tool with a long boom, so the engine sits at the operator's back and the cutting head reaches out to ground level.

The Petrol Engine is a small air-cooled two-stroke. A Recoil Starter cranks it, an all-position Diaphragm Carburetor meters fuel at any tool angle, and the Spark Plug fires it. Engine torque passes to the cutting end through a Centrifugal Clutch that lets the blade stop at idle.

How it works

Power travels down the Drive Shaft, a splined steel shaft running inside an alloy boom tube on a low-friction liner. At the far end the Bevel Gearbox turns the drive through ninety degrees: a Helical Gear Pair inside a Gearbox Housing changes the axis from along the boom to vertical and steps the speed down, running on Ball Bearing supports with an Oil Seal to keep the grease in. That output spins the Cutting Head, which accepts either a steel Brush Blade for woody growth or a nylon-line Trimmer Head for grass.

Construction

The operator controls the tool from the Controls & Harness: a bike-style handlebar with a throttle trigger, a shoulder harness that carries the weight, and anti-vibration mounts. Those mounts use Coil Spring springs between the engine and the handle to keep two-stroke buzz off the operator's hands. A Cutting Guard over the head deflects thrown debris and trims excess line. The tool is assembled with a shared Fastener Set.
