Curling Iron

Product

Overview

A curling iron shapes hair into curls and waves by wrapping a section around a heated barrel and holding it long enough for the hair to take the new shape. This model uses a 25 mm aluminum Ceramic-Coated Barrel Tube finished with a tourmaline-ceramic coating, which spreads heat evenly across the surface and reduces the hot spots that scorch hair. The user sets a target temperature between 120 °C and 230 °C on the Control Board, and the iron holds that setpoint while the hair is curled.

Mains power arrives through the tangle-resistant Swivel Power Cord, whose swivel joint lets the handle rotate freely as the iron is turned during styling. A spring-loaded Clamp Assembly grips the hair against the barrel so the section stays wrapped without being held by hand, and an insulated Cool Tip gives the other hand a safe place to steady the iron.

How it works

Inside the Heated Barrel, a ceramic PTC heating element warms the metal barrel from the inside. A PTC heater is self-regulating: its resistance climbs sharply as it gets hot, so it naturally tapers its own power draw near the target temperature instead of running away. A Barrel Thermistor bonded to the barrel reports the real surface temperature back to the MCU on the Control Board, which trims heater power to hold the setpoint and shows it on the LCD Display. The Temperature Buttons step the target up or down.

To curl, the operator presses the Thumb Lever to open the clip, slips in a section of hair near the root, releases the clip so the return spring clamps it, and rotates the iron to wind the hair down the barrel. Held for a few seconds, the hair reaches the barrel temperature, its internal bonds soften and reset, and it cools into the curled shape once released. The coated barrel keeps the contact gentle while the heat does the work.

Safety is layered. The thermistor loop keeps normal operation in range, and a one-shot Thermal Fuse in the heater circuit opens permanently if the element ever overheats, for instance if the controller fails. An auto shut-off cuts power after about an hour of inactivity. When not in hand, the fold-out Heat-Resistant Stand holds the hot barrel off the countertop.
