RO Water Filtration System

Product

Overview

A reverse-osmosis (RO) water filtration system purifies drinking water by forcing it through a semipermeable membrane that rejects dissolved salts, metals, and most organic contaminants. This under-sink unit pairs the membrane with a train of pre- and post-filters, a booster pump, a pressurized storage tank, and electronic leak and quality monitoring, dispensing treated water at a dedicated faucet.

Its subsystems are the Filter Housing Manifold holding the cartridges, the ordered Filtration Stage Set, the Booster Diaphragm Pump, the Pressurized Storage Tank, the Tubing & Fittings Kit kit, the Dispensing Faucet Assembly, and the Controller Board with its power adapter.

How it works

Feed water first passes the Filtration Stage Set: a 5-micron sediment cartridge removes grit, then dual activated-carbon blocks strip chlorine and organics that would otherwise damage the membrane. The Booster Diaphragm Pump, a 24 V diaphragm pump, raises pressure across the spiral-wound thin-film composite membrane assembly, which rejects roughly 98% of dissolved solids; rejected water (brine) leaves to drain through a flow restrictor while purified permeate continues on. A post-carbon and remineralization cartridge polishes taste, and a UV sterilizer applies a final 254 nm disinfection dose.

All cartridges thread into the Filter Housing Manifold, whose multi-port head routes flow between sumps. Purified water collects in the Pressurized Storage Tank, a bladder vessel under air pre-charge that delivers a steady flow on demand, with an auto-shutoff valve in the Tubing & Fittings Kit stopping production once the tank is full.

The Dispensing Faucet Assembly dispenses water through a lead-free faucet with a code-required drain air-gap. The Controller Board reads inlet and outlet TDS probes to gauge membrane health, drives the pump, and trips a solenoid valve the moment its pan leak sensor detects water.
