Landscape Spotlight Product

Overview

A landscape spotlight is a small, weatherproof fixture that picks out a tree, wall or feature in a garden after dark. It runs on a 12 V low-voltage system rather than mains, which is safer to bury and wire outdoors. The light comes from a LED Optic Module: a compact COB LED Chip emitter behind a Beam Reflector that sets the beam, sealed behind a Tempered Glass Lens of tempered glass.

Everything is built to live outside for years. A die-cast Die-Cast Housing & Gasket resists corrosion and dumps LED heat, a Ground Stake pushes the fixture into soil, and a Glare Shield cuts glare so the source stays hidden. Power reaches it through a Low-Voltage Cable that taps the low-voltage bus run from the transformer.

How it works

Inside the body, a LED Driver takes the 12 V supply and regulates it to a constant LED current. Garden runs can be long, so the bus voltage sags with distance and load; the Driver Regulator IC holds the LED current steady anyway, so the last fixture on a run looks as bright as the first. The driver is sealed in Potting Compound so condensation never reaches the electronics.

Sealing is the other half of the design. The Tempered Glass Lens presses against a Sealing Gasket to keep water out of the optical chamber, earning the fixture its IP rating, while the cast housing conducts heat from the Metal-Core Pad into the night air. The Aiming Knuckle lets the head be aimed at the target and locked, and the Low-Voltage Cable uses a pierce-tap connector so a fixture can be added anywhere along the bus without cutting and splicing the main cable.
