Smart Fitness Mirror
ProductOverview
A smart fitness mirror is a wall- or stand-mounted display that looks like an ordinary full-length mirror when off, and shows a live class, and the user's own reflection, when on. It runs guided workouts, overlays instructor video and metrics on the glass, and uses a camera to track the user's form. With no moving mechanism, the product is essentially a sealed consumer-electronics appliance in a mirror format.
The device is built around a Frame & Housing of anodized aluminium bezel and rear housing. Behind the glass sits the Display Stack stack, driven by the Mainboard SoC. A Camera Assembly watches form, the Audio Module module handles voice and class sound, and a Touch Overlay turns the glass into a control surface.
How it works
The mirror effect comes from the Display Stack stack. A two- way mirror glass reflects the room where it is dark, but where the LCD lights a pixel, that light passes through and reads as on-screen content. The panel is optically bonded to the glass to eliminate air-gap reflections, so video appears to float in the mirror. A Ambient Light Sensor balances panel brightness against room lighting to hold the illusion.
Compute lives on the Mainboard: an application SoC with LPDDR RAM, eMMC storage, and a WiFi/BT module that streams classes and pairs heart-rate straps. The Camera Assembly feeds the SoC's vision pipeline for rep counting and form cues, with a mechanical shutter for privacy. Voice commands are captured by the Audio Module far-field mic array, and the Power Module module supplies the whole stack from an external brick. Heat from the SoC and driver board is carried into the housing through thermal pads.
