Dental Suction Pump Product

Overview

A dental suction pump is the machine in the plant room that makes the chairside aspirator work. When a dentist or assistant lifts a high-volume suction tip, it is this pump, often shared across several treatment rooms, that pulls the saliva, blood, water and debris out of the patient's mouth and away. Aspirated fluid carries water, tissue and, critically, mercury-bearing amalgam particles, so the pump cannot simply move air; it has to separate the liquid and trap the amalgam before anything reaches the drain or the exhaust.

A Drive Motor spins the Vacuum Head, the element that actually creates the vacuum. Before that air ever reaches the head, the Separator & Amalgam Trap strips out liquid and amalgam. The Inlet/Outlet & Valves route suction to the chairs and watch the vacuum level, the Control Board starts and stops the set on demand, the Seal Set hold the vacuum, and the whole assembly sits on the Base Frame.

Whether the head is liquid-ring or dry rotary-vane, the job is the same: keep a steady working vacuum at every chair no matter how many are aspirating at once.

How it works

When a chair calls for suction, the Control Board closes the Motor Contactor and the Drive Motor spins up; its Stator Assembly and Copper Winding drive the Rotor Assembly in the Motor Housing, carried on Ball Bearing supports and cooled by the Cooling Fan. The shaft turns the Vacuum Impeller in the Vacuum Head. Because the impeller is mounted eccentrically in the Pump Chamber, each pocket between the Vane Set grows on the inlet side, pulling air in, then shrinks toward the exhaust, pushing it out, and that continuous sweep is the vacuum. In a liquid-ring head, water admitted at the Water Ring Port is flung into a sealing ring that does the same job without metal-to-metal contact.

The aspirated stream reaches the Separator & Amalgam Trap first. Its Air/Water Separator spins the liquid out so only air goes to the pump, the Solids Screen catches coarse solids, and the Amalgam Trap settles and filters out the mercury-bearing particles to meet the ISO amalgam-separation rule. The Drain Float Valve drains the collected liquid without breaking the vacuum.

The Inlet/Outlet & Valves manifold gathers the chair lines, while the Pressure Sensor reports the vacuum so the Microcontroller holds the setpoint and trips an alarm on a blocked line or a full trap; the Relay-driven Solenoid Valve set and the Check Valve keep flow one-way. The Shaft Seal and O-Ring Set in the Seal Set hold the vacuum and keep liquid off the bearings, and the Isolation Mount feet keep the running set quiet.
