Desktop PC

Overview

A desktop PC is a modular personal computer in which every major subsystem is a separately serviceable part bolted into a standardised chassis. This configuration is a gaming tower: a steel and tempered-glass case housing an ATX motherboard, a discrete graphics card, and liquid CPU cooling. The modularity is the defining trait of the form factor; each component conforms to an interface standard, so it can be upgraded or replaced independently.

The Case / Chassis is a mid-tower chassis that provides mounting standoffs, drive bays, and airflow paths. The Motherboard is the backbone, distributing power and high-speed lanes between every device. It hosts the CPU in its socket, the DDR5 Memory Module DIMMs in dual channel, and the Graphics Card in the primary PCIe slot.

Construction

Compute is split between two processors. The CPU handles general-purpose serial work and game logic; the graphics card handles the massively parallel rendering load through its own GDDR6 memory. Both are fast and hot, so each has dedicated cooling: the CPU is cooled by the AIO Liquid Cooler, a closed-loop AIO that pumps coolant to a radiator, while the GPU carries its own fan stack.

Persistent data lives on the NVMe SSD, an M.2 drive that connects over PCIe for sequential speeds far beyond any SATA disk. Power for the whole system comes from the Power Supply Unit, a modular supply that converts mains AC into the regulated 12 V, 5 V, and 3.3 V rails the components require.

Thermal management is active and case-wide: the Case Fan set establishes a front-to-back airflow tunnel, removing the heat the CPU and GPU dump into the chassis. Connectivity is handled by the WiFi / BT Card in an M.2 key-E slot. Assembled, the machine trades the portability of a laptop for raw performance, full repairability, and a clear upgrade path.
