Laptop Cooling Pad Product
Overview
A laptop cooling pad is a ventilated platform that sits between a laptop and the desktop, drawing cooler ambient air up through the laptop's underside intake vents and exhausting the laptop's hot waste heat away. The Metal Mesh Deck is punched with thousands of small holes to allow airflow; beneath it sits a Fan Array of Cooling Fan Assemblys that create the suction.
The Speed Controller allows the user to adjust fan speed via button control, trading noise for cooling performance. The integrated USB Hub provides four USB 2.0 ports downstream, so users can plug in peripherals (keyboard, mouse, etc.) without consuming the laptop's own USB slots.
Power comes from a USB-C inlet on the pad itself, so a single cable delivers both fan power and USB hub power. The Anti-Slip Foot (rubber pads with adhesive) provide grip and prevent the pad from sliding under the laptop's weight.
How it works
When powered, the Blower Motors in each Cooling Fan Assembly spin at a speed set by the Speed Controller. The Power MOSFET on the controller board modulates the fan voltage with PWM (pulse-width modulation), so pressing the speed button cycles through low, medium, and high settings. The fans create a low-pressure zone under the mesh, sucking room-temperature air up through the holes.
Laptops draw cool air at the sides and blow hot exhaust out the back or sides. By sitting the laptop on the pad, the Fan Array intercepts that incoming air path, drawing air horizontally across the laptop's CPU and GPU heatsinks before exhausting it, extending thermal margins and reducing thermal throttling during gaming or rendering.
The USB Hub is a passive multiport splitter (or active with a hub controller IC like the USB Hub Controller IC) that replicates the USB uplink to the computer across four downstream ports. The entire pad draws power from the host laptop's USB-C Power Delivery port or an external USB charger.
The Metal Mesh Deck is the interface between the pad and the laptop; its open area fraction and hole diameter are optimized to balance airflow resistance and structural support.
