Wi-Fi Router
ProductOverview
A Wi-Fi router is the gateway between a home or small-office network and the internet, bridging wired and wireless clients onto a single network. This unit is a tri-band Wi-Fi 6E mesh node: it serves the 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz bands simultaneously and can join other nodes to blanket a large space with one seamless network.
The molded Housing vents the electronics and frames the status indicators. Inside, the Mainboard integrates the network processor, three radios, the wired switch and the PHYs on one board. RF energy reaches the air through the Antenna Array, six dual-band elements fed by coaxial pigtails. Wired devices connect through the Ethernet Port Bank, and a Power Input assembly takes DC from an external adapter. A USB 3.0 Port supports attached storage, and an optional Cooling Fan cools the SoC under sustained load.
How it works
The router runs three radios at once. Each band carries its own traffic, so a phone on 6 GHz and a laptop on 5 GHz don't compete, and the lightly used 6 GHz band, exclusive to Wi-Fi 6E, gives clean, wide 160 MHz channels for high throughput. Wi-Fi 6 techniques layered on top, OFDMA and MU-MIMO, let the radio serve many clients in the same airtime by splitting channels into sub-carriers and steering separate spatial streams to different devices. On the wired side, an integrated switch links the 2.5GbE WAN uplink to four gigabit LAN ports. The network SoC runs the routing, NAT and firewall stack that translates between the private LAN and the public internet, assigns addresses by DHCP, and, in mesh mode, coordinates with sibling nodes, handing clients between nodes and reserving a band or wired link as backhaul between them.
