Banknote Banding Machine Product

Overview

A banknote banding machine (or cheque bander) is an automated device that wraps and seals elastic or plastic bands around stacked currency, cheques, or other valuable documents. Used in banks, financial institutions, and cash-handling centres, the machine reliably binds bundles to standard counts—100, 500, 1000 notes—with a sealed band, eliminating the risk of loss or mix-up from rubber bands slipping or opening.

The machine combines a paper or plastic band feeder, electronic counting, controlled heat sealing, and note advancement motors into one compact unit. An operator loads a stack of notes; the machine automatically feeds individual notes past optical sensors, counts to the preset number, applies a band, heat-seals it, and ejects the completed bundle. Counting accuracy is perfect: no variance once the target is set.

How it works

The operator enters a target count (e.g., 100 notes) on the Numeric Keypad, and the Logic Controller stores this value in memory. As the Stepper Motor advances the note stack, each note passes under the Optical Sensor. The sensor detects the leading edge of each note and sends a pulse to the Counter Electronics, which increments the displayed count on the Control Display.

When the count reaches the target, the Logic Controller signals the Feed Roller to pull a length of band material from the Band Roll Spool. The Band Cutter blade guillotines the band to the correct length (typically 8–16 inches depending on stack width). The Applicator Arm then wraps the cut band around the stacked notes, overlapping the ends slightly.

The overlapped band ends are fed under the Seal Roller, which is heated to 150–250°C by the Heating Element. The Temperature Controller maintains precise temperature via a thermostat feedback loop. The Pressure Spring applies downward force for 2–5 seconds, sealing the overlapping band ends together with heat. The Thermal Cutout cuts power to the heater if temperature exceeds 80°C, preventing overheating and band degradation.

The Guide Frame and its Alignment Rail, Width Guide Plate, and Separation Roller keep notes aligned in a single file throughout the process, preventing double-feeds and ensuring consistent stacking. The completed bundle is then advanced clear of the seal roller and collected by the operator.

The machine is powered by the Power Transformer, which steps down mains AC to 24 V and 12 V supplies. The Bridge Rectifier converts these to regulated DC, and the Voltage Regulator provides stable 5 V for the Logic Controller and sensor circuits. The Stepper Motor is driven by a dedicated motor driver on the logic board, receiving step and direction signals. The Cabinet Body houses all components, with Access Panel sections removable for band roll loading and maintenance.
