Video Conference Bar Product
Overview
A video conference bar is an all-in-one ultra-wide camera, microphone array, and speaker assembly designed for video meetings in conference rooms and huddle spaces. Unlike separate webcams, microphones, and speakers, the bar integrates all three with a central processor and AI algorithms to deliver meeting-room–quality video and audio out of the box: the camera uses artificial intelligence to automatically frame and track speakers, the microphone array uses digital beamforming to capture clear voice from anywhere in the room, and the speakers deliver two-way audio without external amplification.
The bar mounts above a monitor or on the wall, remaining invisible to participants while the ultra-wide lens (120°–150°) captures the full room. Face detection and speaker tracking keep the video feed centered on whoever is talking, eliminating the need for manual pan/tilt controls. Behind the scenes, the integrated processor encodes video, processes audio beamforming, and manages USB and network connectivity to laptops, meeting-room platforms, and cloud conference services.
How it works
Video capture begins with the Camera Module. The Ultra-Wide Lens projects the ultra-wide scene onto the CMOS Image Sensor, which captures video at 4K resolution and 30–60 fps. Simultaneously, the AI Framing Processor analyzes the video stream in real time, detecting faces and identifying who is currently speaking using audio cues from the Microphone Array.
The microphone array consists of six MEMS Microphone elements distributed across the bar. The Beamforming DSP steers a digital "beam" toward the detected speaker, filtering out ambient noise and room reverberation. This far-field pickup works up to 20 feet away, allowing natural conversation without anyone wearing a headset or holding a microphone. The Microphone Preamp amplifies and conditions the audio for encoding.
The Main Processor receives raw video from the sensor and audio from the microphone array, encoding both in real time: video is compressed using H.264 or H.265 codecs, and audio is encoded to Opus or AAC. The processor also manages USB and network connectivity via the Connectivity Module module; a single USB Type-C cable carries video, audio, and power to the host computer or dedicated meeting-room controller. Ethernet and WiFi provide backup network access and firmware updates.
Incoming audio from the conference is routed to the Speaker Array, which consists of two Speaker Driver units and Passive Radiator elements tuned for speech intelligibility and bass extension. The Speaker Enclosure is ported to balance volume and frequency response. Room participants hear the remote speaker clearly without a separate external speaker system.
The Control Panel provides quick access to mute, volume, and settings: touch-sensitive Capacitive Touch Button buttons trigger actions, and RGB Status LED indicators show network, recording, and mute state at a glance. The Mount Hardware uses a standard VESA Adapter to attach to any monitor or wall bracket, with integrated Cable Holder clips managing cables neatly out of sight.
