Motorized Projector Screen Product

Overview

A motorized projector screen is a motorized, remotely controlled retractable projection surface housed in a protective tube casing. Used in corporate meeting rooms, lecture halls, and presentation spaces, the screen extends electrically on demand and retracts into the case when not in use, keeping the room appearance clean and uncluttered.

The screen consists of a roller tube wound with projection fabric—woven PVC-coated polyester with either a white matte finish (1.0 gain, neutral reflection) or grey (0.8–0.9 gain, higher contrast in ambient light)—driven by a low-voltage DC motor with planetary gearing and controlled via handheld IR remote or building automation integration. Spring-balanced guide rails keep the fabric edge straight and prevent flutter during extension and retraction. Limit switches stop the motor at fully extended and fully retracted positions.

How it works

When the user presses the down button on the Remote Control System, the Receiver Module detects the infrared signal and energizes the Control Relay, reversing the polarity across the DC Motor. The motor drives the Planetary Gearbox, which reduces speed and multiplies torque, rotating the Roller Tube. As the tube spins, the sewn Screen Fabric unwinds onto the Guide Rails, stretching flat under tension. The Roller System is supported at each end by Ball Bearing mounted in Bearing Block.

The Limit Switch cameras are triggered by rotating cams on the motor shaft, stopping the motor when the fabric reaches the limit of travel (fully extended or retracted). The Drop Limit Assembly mechanism prevents the fabric from dropping below a preset lowest point, protecting the view and controlling fabric storage. The entire roller, motor, and fabric are enclosed in the Outer Casing Tube, which mounts via Mounting Bracket to wall studs or ceiling joists, with optional Ceiling Adaptor hardware for recessed or flush installation.

The End Caps seal the roller tube ends against dust ingress, and the Seam Reinforcement reinforces the fabric edges to distribute load and prevent tearing under repeated extension.
