Food Processor

Overview

A food processor chops, slices, shreds, purées and kneads by spinning interchangeable blades and discs at the bottom of a wide work bowl. Unlike a blender it runs at modest speed but high torque, so it handles dry and stiff mixtures. Everything stacks on the heavy Motor Base, with the Work Bowl Assembly locking on top.

How it works

Drive comes from the Induction Motor, an AC induction motor prized for quiet, brushless running under heavy loads. Its shaft turns through a Gear Reduction stage to a vertical spindle that rises through the centre of the base. Whichever tool from the Blade & Disc Set is fitted, an S-blade, dough blade, or a slicing or shredding disc, couples directly to that spindle and spins just above the bowl floor.

Food is loaded through a tube in the Locking Lid and pressed down with a pusher, so slicing discs meter it against the spinning edge while the bowl stays closed. The motor never starts unless both the bowl and the lid are correctly seated: the Safety Interlock is a tab-and-microswitch arrangement that only completes the circuit when the bowl is twist-locked and the lid latched, a hard requirement given the exposed blades.

Operation is selected on the Control Panel, with high, low and pulse settings handled by the Control Board driving the motor. A cooling fan on the motor shaft keeps the windings within rating during long kneads. Mains power enters through the Power Cord, and the weighted base, often with a rubber foot or suction pad, keeps the tall stack steady while dense dough is worked.
