Electric Meat Slicer Product
Overview
An electric meat slicer cuts deli meats, cheese and bread into even slices by passing the food across a spinning circular blade. The food rides on the Carriage & Pusher, a tray that the user pushes back and forth past the edge; with each pass a slice falls away at the thickness set on the gauge. Unlike a knife, the slicer keeps every slice the same, which is what makes it useful for sandwiches and charcuterie.
A heavy cast Base anchors the motor, blade and carriage so the machine does not walk under the load of slicing. A fixed Blade Ring Guard covers the part of the blade not in use, and the carriage and pusher keep the operator's hands away from the edge.
How it works
Flipping the Power Switch on the Control & Switch board runs the Drive Motor, a quiet induction motor. Its output passes through the Belt & Gear Drive, where a belt and a Helical Gear Pair step the speed down so the Circular Slicing Blade turns at a few hundred rpm — fast enough to slice cleanly, slow enough to stay safe and avoid tearing.
The user loads food onto the Food Tray and holds it in place with the spiked Food Pusher. The carriage glides on rails and bearings, sweeping the food across the blade so a slice peels off against the Gauge Plate. That deflector plate sits a set distance behind the blade plane; turning the Adjuster Knob shifts it via a cam, and the gap between plate and edge is exactly the slice thickness. After many slices the blade dulls, so the Built-in Sharpener swings down to press two honing stones against both faces of the spinning disc and restore the edge in a few seconds.
