Dishwasher

Overview

A dishwasher cleans tableware by blasting it with jets of heated, detergent-laden water and then drying it in a sealed chamber. The Cabinet & Frame provides the frame and an anti-flood base tray with a leak sensor, while the Stainless Tub, a welded stainless-steel chamber sealed by a perimeter gasket, holds the wash water and the loaded racks. The Door Assembly seals the tub at the front and carries the detergent dispenser.

How it works

A cycle begins when the Water System opens an inlet valve and meters fresh water into the tub, optionally passing it through an ion-exchange softener to prevent limescale. The Wash System then takes over: a circulation pump draws water from the sump, heats it with an inline flow heater, and forces it through rotating spray arms above, below, and within the racks. The arms spin by reaction as jets exit their nozzles, sweeping pressurized water across every surface. Food debris is captured by a multi-stage filter and flushed out by a separate drain pump.

After the final rinse, the Drying System removes residual moisture, either by condensing vapor against the cool stainless walls or by releasing heat from a zeolite mineral bed that adsorbs water and warms the air. Items rest on the Rack Set, whose adjustable tines and a sliding cutlery tray adapt to different loads.

The Control System board orchestrates the sequence, reading turbidity and temperature sensors to adjust water changes and cycle length, while the Wire Bundle connects the pumps, valves, heater, and user interface. The anti-flood tray and float switch cut the supply if a leak is detected.
