Double Wall Oven
ProductOverview
A double wall oven is a built-in appliance that stacks two complete electric ovens in a single cabinet opening, sharing one control panel and one cabinet but operating as two independent cooking spaces. It frees the cook to run two temperatures at once, roast in one cavity while baking in the other, and avoids the bending of a floor-level range oven because both cavities sit at a comfortable height in a tall cabinet. Because it has no cooktop, it pairs with a separate cooktop and is wired to a dedicated 240 V circuit.
The build splits into the Upper Oven Cavity and Lower Oven Cavity, each with its own Oven Door Assembly and Convection System, a shared Electronic Control System, a Cooling System protecting the exterior, and the Cabinet and Frame that fits the wall cutout.
Oven cavities
Each cavity is a porcelain box that holds heat. The upper Upper Cavity Liner and lower Lower Cavity Liner are porcelain-enameled steel, chosen because the glassy enamel resists food acids and survives the high temperatures of a pyrolytic self-clean cycle. A Heating Element at the floor of each cavity handles baking, while the Upper Broil Element and Lower Broil Element at the top handle broiling. Surrounding each box is a Upper Cavity Insulation or Lower Cavity Insulation blanket of fiberglass that keeps heat inside and the cabinet faces cool. Cookware rides on a Upper Oven Rack or Lower Oven Rack set into a Upper Rack Guide or Lower Rack Guide, a Upper Oven Light and Lower Oven Light light the interiors, and a Upper Temperature Sensor and Lower Temperature Sensor feed cavity temperature back to the controller.
Convection and even heat
Each cavity has its own convection system so the two can run different modes at once. The Convection Ring Element is a ring element at the back, and the Convection Fan driven by the Convection Motor pulls air across that element and forces it back into the cavity through a Fan Baffle. This true convection design heats the moving air directly rather than relying only on radiant elements, which evens out hot spots and lets multiple racks bake at the same rate. A Ball Bearing carries the fan motor shaft.
Doors and sealing
Every cavity has a heavy insulated Oven Door Assembly. The Outer Door Glass is a tempered outer pane, and one or two layers of Inner Door Glass create insulating air gaps that keep the outer surface touchable during a hot cycle. A Door Hinge on each side is spring-counterbalanced so the door holds any position and closes softly, and a Door Gasket of woven fiberglass rope seals the cavity. The Door Handle spans the width, and a motorized Door Latch locks the door automatically during the self-clean cycle when interior temperatures climb toward 880 F.
Controls
A single Electronic Control System runs both cavities. The Main Control Board with its Microcontroller reads the shared Touch Display Panel and the Door Switch for each cavity, then commands the Relay Power Board. A bank of Relay devices switches the bake, broil, and convection elements of each oven so the two can hold different setpoints. A Power Supply feeds the low-voltage electronics and a Wire Bundle runs the connections down to both cavities. The controller closes a loop on the temperature sensors, cycling the elements to hold the set temperature and managing timed bakes, delayed starts, and the self-clean sequence.
Cooling and venting
A self-cleaning oven runs very hot, so a Cooling System is essential. The tangential Cooling Blower driven by the Cooling Blower Motor pulls room air through the cabinet by way of the Cooling Air Duct, sweeping past the doors and control board to keep those surfaces safe to touch. The warm air leaves through the Vent Trim Louver louver above the upper door. Without this airflow the touch panel and the cabinet faces would overheat during cleaning.
Cabinet, installation, and variants
The two cavities live inside one Sheet Metal Panel outer wrapper with a stainless Front Frame that seats against the cabinet face. A Mounting Bracket at each side anchors the heavy unit into the surrounding cabinetry, and the Power Terminal Block lands the 240 V hardwire feed. A Fastener Set holds the internal structure together. Standard cutout widths are 27 and 30 inches. Variants add steam-assist baking, a warming lower cavity instead of a full oven, air-fry modes that run the convection fan at high speed, and microwave-combination versions that replace the upper cavity with a microwave. The defining trade is that a double wall oven gives two real ovens at a comfortable height in exchange for the cabinet space and the separate cooktop it requires.
