Trouser Press Product
Overview
A trouser press is a hotel and hospitality appliance that restores crisp creases to trousers and light garments using heated pressure. The unit comprises a vertical Base Stand with two heating Heating Plates: a hinged Top Plate that swings down and a fixed Bottom Plate beneath it. The operator inserts trousers, pulls the Operator Lever to engage the Clamping System mechanism, sets a time on the Timer Control, and in minutes the garment emerges pressed flat with sharp creases.
The design is purpose-built for volume use in hotels, minimizing pressing time and energy while delivering consistent results. Because it works at modest temperature (60–80 °C) on enclosed pressure rather than steam, it handles a range of fabrics safely without steam-related hazards.
How it works
When the operator pulls down the Operator Lever, a mechanical Latch Mechanism engages. Once latched, a Holding Solenoid energizes to hold the clamp firmly in place. The Top Plate is drawn down, pressing the trousers between it and the Bottom Plate.
Both plates contain embedded Top Plate Heater and Bottom Plate Heater elements powered by the Electrical Assembly system. The Plate Thermostat regulates plate temperature to the set point—typically 70 °C, which softens fabric and sets creases without scorching. A Thermal Fuse provides backup protection if temperature ever exceeds 90 °C.
The Timer Control dial lets the operator set the cycle duration, typically 5–7 minutes. An internal clock in the Microcontroller counts down; when the timer expires, it cuts power to the Holding Solenoid, allowing Coil Spring return springs to release the latch and Operator Lever, springing the top plate open. A Completion Buzzer sounds to alert the user.
Safety features include a Guard Frame mesh preventing contact with hot plates, an Overheat Cut-Off thermal cutout, and an Auto-Off Timer that halts all heating after 30 minutes without use. These prevent burns and unattended operation hazards common in shared facilities.
The Control PCB coordinates the Relay switching for heating and clamping, the Cycle Switch sequencing, and interlocks preventing the clamp from releasing until the cycle is complete. All wiring runs through the Mains Cord from the wall outlet.
