Portable Dishwasher
ProductOverview
A portable dishwasher is a full-capacity dishwasher built to stand free on the kitchen floor rather than fit under a counter. It is meant for renters and small kitchens with no plumbed-in dishwasher slot, so instead of permanent water lines it borrows the sink: roll it over, clip a coupler to the faucet, and run a cycle. It washes the same eight to twelve place settings as a built-in unit using the same hardware, just packaged in a finished cabinet that looks acceptable from all sides and stores against a wall between uses.
Everything sits on the Cabinet & Frame, a steel frame on four Locking Caster wheels so a loaded machine can be moved one-handed. Two of the casters lock so it stays put while running. A Anti-Flood Base Tray in the base catches any leak and trips a float to shut off the fill, which matters more on a movable appliance whose connections are made and broken every wash. Two Side Panel panels and a finished worktop close the box.
The tub and door
The wash happens inside the Stainless Tub & Door, a Tub Shell of SUS304 stainless that resists corrosion and reflects spray back onto the dishes. A Heating Element in the tub floor warms the water and later helps dry the load, and a Door Gasket seals the front opening against the Door Assembly. The door carries a Door Outer Panel outer face over a stainless Door Inner Liner, swings on two Door Hinge hinges balanced by Door Counterbalance Spring springs so it holds at any angle, and locks with a Door Latch. Inside the door, the Detergent Dispenser releases detergent at the right point in the cycle when its Dispenser Solenoid flips the lid, and a Rinse-Aid Cap meters rinse aid to cut spotting.
Wash system
The Wash System is the part that actually cleans. A Circulation Pump, built around a Stator Assembly and Rotor Assembly driving a Pump Impeller, draws water from the Sump at the bottom of the tub and forces it up to the spray arms. The Lower Spray Arm and Upper Spray Arm arms have angled nozzles that both blast the dishes and spin the arm by jet reaction, sweeping the whole rack. Used water falls back to the sump through a two-stage filter: a Coarse Filter catches large food scraps and a Fine Filter traps fine particles so they are not sprayed back. The pump recirculates this charge for the length of the wash, which is why a cycle cleans well on only eleven liters.
Water connection
The portable design lives or dies on the Water System. A Faucet Coupler threads onto the kitchen tap in place of the aerator, and a single Fill/Drain Hose runs to the machine carrying clean water in and waste water out through separate channels. When a cycle calls for water the Inlet Valve solenoid opens and the tap pressure fills the tub; the Pressure Switch watches the level and a Float Switch guards against overfill. To drain, the Drain Pump pushes used water back up the same hose to the sink. A Anti-Siphon Check Valve prevents siphoning and stops dirty water from being drawn back into the household supply, the single most important safety feature on a faucet-fed appliance.
Racks and drying
Dishes load into the Rack Set. The Upper Rack and Lower Rack are wire baskets that roll out on Rack Wheel wheels, each a Wire Rack Frame studded with Rack Tine tines that hold plates upright, plus a Cutlery Basket for flatware. After the final hot rinse the Drying System takes over: a Vent Fan draws the humid cavity air out past a Motorized Vent Flap, and the residual heat in the dishes drives off the rest of the moisture, which condenses on the cooler tub walls and drains away.
Worktop and control
Because a portable unit sits in the open, it gets a usable Worktop: a hardwood Butcher-Block Top top edged with Worktop Edge Trim that doubles as counter space when the machine is parked. The whole cycle is run by the Control System system. A Main Control Board with its Microcontroller sequences fill, wash, drain, and rinse and switches the heater through a Triac and the motors through Relay relays. A UI Board reads the user's program choice from Capacitive Touch Key Pad capacitive keys. Three sensors close the loop: a Turbidity Sensor measures how dirty the water is and extends or shortens the wash to match, a Temperature Sensor confirms the heater reached target, and a Leak Sensor in the base aborts the cycle if water escapes the tub.
Variants and use
Portable dishwashers range from compact 18-inch cabinets holding eight place settings to full 24-inch units matching a built-in. Some omit the faucet coupler in favor of a fillable internal tank for kitchens with no usable tap, trading capacity for true cordless operation. Many can be converted to a permanent built-in later by removing the casters and worktop and plumbing the hose directly, so the same machine serves a renter now and a homeowner later. The wash core, a stainless tub, a recirculating pump, two spray arms, and a turbidity-aware control, is shared with every other modern dishwasher; only the mobile cabinet and the faucet plumbing are particular to this format.
