UHF Wireless Microphone System Product

Overview

A UHF wireless microphone system replaces the cable between a handheld vocal mic and the mixing console with a licensed radio link. It has two units: the Handheld Transmitter the performer holds, and the Diversity Desktop Receiver that sits at the console and feeds the recovered audio into the PA. The capsule, battery, and a complete UHF transmitter live inside the handle; the receiver does the hard work of pulling a clean signal out of the air and converting it back to studio-grade analog audio. An accessory Cable Set carries that output to the mixer over balanced XLR.

The system tunes across a 64 MHz slice of the UHF band, so dozens of units can run at once on non-interfering frequencies — the reason it is the standard for live vocals, broadcast, and conferences.

How it works

Sound enters the Dynamic Mic Cartridge, a moving-coil dynamic cartridge whose Diaphragm & Voice Coil drives a voice coil in a magnet gap to make a tiny audio current. The steel grille and an internal foam windscreen protect it from impact, wind, and plosives. That signal hits the Preamp & ADC Board, where a low-noise amplifier with a soft limiter raises it to line level and a 24-bit ADC digitizes it.

The UHF Transmitter Board takes over from there. Its Microcontroller frames and companders the audio stream, a synthesizer sets the carrier to the chosen channel, and the UHF RF Transmitter modulates and amplifies it onto the helical antenna at the licensed power. The performer sees channel and battery state on the OLED display, mutes from the body switch, and runs the whole transmitter from a single 18650 cell managed by its BMS Board.

At the console, the Diversity Receiver Board runs two independent UHF tuners on two spaced antennas. A diversity combiner constantly compares the two paths and switches to whichever is stronger, which is how the system rides out the multipath fades and body-blocking that would otherwise drop the signal. The demodulated digital audio passes to the Audio Output Stage stage, where a 24-bit DAC reconstructs it and a balanced line driver presents it on the XLR output (with a jack output alongside). The front-panel LCD and buttons let the operator scan for a clear frequency and read RF and audio meters, all powered from the receiver's internal supply.
