Belt Conveyor System

Product

Overview

A belt conveyor moves bulk material or discrete loads continuously along a fixed path using an endless rubber belt running over a head and tail pulley. It is the most economical way to transport material over distance at high throughput, with low energy per tonne and few moving parts. This unit is a troughed conveyor: the carrying-side rollers cradle the belt into a U-shaped cross-section that increases capacity and keeps material centered.

Construction

The structural backbone is the Steel Frame Assembly, a welded and bolted steel truss on legs that holds the geometry rigid and sets the conveying angle. Running over it is the Conveyor Belt, a multi-ply fabric-reinforced rubber belt spliced into an endless loop.

Motion originates at the head end. The Drive Gearmotor turns the Drive Pulley Assembly, a lagged head pulley whose high-friction surface transmits tractive force to the belt. At the opposite end the Tail Pulley Assembly returns the belt, and a pair of Snub Pulley units increase the belt's wrap angle around the drive pulley so it can pull harder without slipping. Belt tension is maintained by the Screw Take-Up, a screw tensioner that compensates for belt stretch and keeps the drive engaged.

The belt is supported across its span by idler rollers: the Carrying Idler Set troughs the loaded upper run, while the Return Idler Set carries the empty lower run back to the tail. Material released at discharge is fed through the Transfer Section, and the Belt Scraper wipes residual material off the belt to prevent carry-back and buildup.

Speed and starting are managed by the Control Panel, whose variable-frequency drive ramps the belt up smoothly to avoid spillage and load shock. Operators are protected by the Guarding Set over pinch points and the Safety Device Set of emergency pull-cords and photo-eyes that halt the belt instantly.
