Telehandler

Product

Overview

The telehandler is a diesel-powered telescopic handler combining the reach of a crane with the mobility of a rough-terrain forklift. A telescoping boom pivoting at the rear of the chassis lifts loads up to 4000 kg, extending to 17 m of height or 12 m of forward reach while a fork carriage or interchangeable attachment does the work. Permanent four-wheel drive and four-wheel steer let it operate on construction sites, farms, and unmade ground where a counterbalance forklift cannot.

Construction

The machine is built on the Chassis & Frame, a box-section welded frame with a cast iron rear counterweight and a boom pivot mount. A turbocharged four-cylinder Diesel Engine drives the Powertrain: a powershift transmission through a torque converter to front and rear steer-drive axles with planetary wheel hubs. The 4-Wheel Steering uses hydraulic cylinders on both axles to select front-wheel, four-wheel coordinated, or crab steering.

The Telescopic Boom is a three-stage box-section boom, extended by a telescope cylinder and extension chains, raised by twin lift cylinders, and sliding on replaceable nylon wear pads. At its tip the Attachment Carriage carries a quick-coupler, fork tilt cylinder, and load forks for rapid attachment changes.

How it works

A load-sensing Hydraulic System supplies the boom, steering, and stabiliser circuits from a variable axial-piston pump, metering flow through a main valve block only as the operator demands it. Stabilizers & Frame Leveling deploy outrigger legs and a frame-levelling cylinder to widen the footprint when working at full reach. The operator sits in a ROPS/FOPS Cab (ROPS/FOPS) with a control joystick, display, HVAC, and pedals. The Electrical System system ties together the engine ECU and a load moment indicator that continuously computes the rated-capacity limit from boom pressure, angle, and length sensors, derating or stopping the boom before the load chart is exceeded.
