Portable Power Station

Overview

The portable power station is a roughly 1 kWh LiFePO4 battery box that delivers clean mains AC alongside USB and DC outputs for camping, off-grid work and backup power. A pure-sine Pure-Sine Inverter Board feeds the Output Panel panel, while an MPPT Charge Controller solar controller and an AC/DC AC/DC Charger Board refill the LiFePO4 Battery Pack. Everything is housed in a molded Enclosure with a carry handle, rubber feet and ventilation grilles.

How it works

Energy is stored in sixteen 32700 LiFePO4 cells held in a plastic cell holder and joined by spot-welded nickel busbars. Lithium iron phosphate gives long cycle life and high thermal stability at the cost of some energy density, suiting a unit that is charged and discharged often. A BMS board balances the cells and enforces voltage, current and temperature limits, reading two NTC sensors in the pack.

Charging arrives through the Input Panel panel from either a solar array or the mains. The MPPT controller continuously tunes its operating point to extract the most power from a PV panel as light changes, while the AC/DC charger rectifies and isolates grid power through a high-frequency transformer. On output, the inverter switches the DC bus through a MOSFET and IGBT bridge into a toroidal transformer to produce a pure-sine 120/230 V waveform clean enough for sensitive electronics; a USB PD board regulates the USB rails.

A Control Board supervises the whole system, coordinating the BMS, inverter, charging and outputs, and reporting state of charge and power flow on the Display Assembly. A temperature-controlled Cooling Fan pulls air across the hot boards and pack, copper Busbars + Internal Wiring carries the high-current path, and a Wireless Module exposes monitoring and control to a phone app over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
