Wireless Earbuds
ProductOverview
True-wireless earbuds are a pair of self-contained in-ear audio devices with no cable between them, each holding its own driver, amplifier, radio, battery, and microphones. A charging case stores and replenishes the buds between uses. The defining constraint is fitting a complete wireless audio system into a shell light enough to sit unsupported in the ear canal, which drives extreme component miniaturisation.
Each Earbud is built around two transducers: a Dynamic Speaker Driver dynamic driver for bass and midrange, and a Balanced Armature Tweeter balanced-armature tweeter for treble detail, crossed over for a wider frequency range than either could cover alone. Both are driven by the SiP Control Board, a system-in-package carrying the Bluetooth SoC, the audio amplifier, and the noise-cancellation processor.
Construction
Active noise cancellation relies on the MEMS Microphone array of three microphones per bud: a feedforward mic sensing outside noise, a feedback mic monitoring the in-ear result, and a voice mic for calls. The processor generates an anti-noise signal in real time to cancel ambient sound, and the same mics serve beamformed voice pickup.
Power for each bud is held in a tiny Bud Battery Pack, and the radio link runs through the BLE Antenna. Touch input is read by the Touch / IR Sensor on the bud's outer face for play, skip, and ANC toggling.
Between uses the buds dock in the Charging Case, which protects them, recharges them through pogo-pin contacts, and carries enough reserve for several full bud charges. The case itself recharges over USB-C or a Qi pad. Sound exits each bud through a sealed nozzle and a silicone ear tip, with acoustic vents balancing pressure for comfort and clean bass.
