Self-Propelled Sprayer Product

Overview

A self-propelled sprayer is a dedicated machine for applying liquid crop protection — herbicide, fungicide, insecticide, or liquid fertilizer — across large fields quickly and accurately. Where a Boom Sprayer is towed behind a tractor, this machine carries everything itself: tank, pump, a very wide folding boom, and a tall high-clearance chassis that lets it straddle standing crop late in the season without crushing it. That ground clearance and a light footprint on narrow row-crop wheels are the whole point — the sprayer can run through tall corn or soybeans well after a tractor-mounted rig would do too much damage.

Speed and accuracy both matter. Spray windows are short — limited by wind, dew, and crop stage — so the machine works wide and fast, and it relies on GPS guidance and per-section nozzle control to avoid overlaps and skips that waste expensive chemicals or damage the crop.

How it works

The Diesel Engine is a turbo diesel that powers everything hydraulically. Rather than a gearbox and axles, the Hydrostatic Drive uses a variable pump feeding a hydraulic motor at each Row-Crop Wheel, giving stepless speed and true four-wheel drive on tall, narrow tires sized to fit between crop rows. The same engine drives the spray system: the Solution Pump, a centrifugal pump, draws mix from the Product Tank and pushes it to the boom at a controlled pressure, while agitation nozzles keep the mix in suspension and a rinse tank lets the operator flush the system clean.

Spray reaches the crop through the Spray Boom. Folded for transport and spread to full width in the field, it carries dozens of nozzle bodies — each with a calibrated tip and an anti-drip check valve — grouped into sections that solenoid valves switch on and off. The brain is the Rate Controller: it reads ground speed and a flow meter and trims pump output so the litres-per-hectare rate stays constant whatever the speed, and its GPS shuts off sections over ground already covered. The operator works from a sealed Operator Cab whose activated-carbon filter keeps spray vapor out of the air. Tall independent Suspension System keeps the long boom level over rough ground, and the Electrical System system ties the controls, lighting, and section valves together.
