Skid-Steer Loader

Product

Overview

A skid-steer loader is a compact, highly manoeuvrable loader whose rigid frame has no steering axle: it turns by driving the wheels on one side faster than, or opposite to, the other, skidding the tyres to pivot in place. That zero-radius turning, combined with a universal attachment coupler, makes it a versatile site machine for loading, grading, digging, sweeping, and dozens of other tasks via interchangeable tools.

The machine is built on a rigid Chassis & ROPS Cab carrying the Diesel Engine, the Hydrostatic Chain Drive, and a front Loader Arm Assembly.

How it works

The Diesel Engine drives the Hydrostatic Chain Drive, a hydrostatic transmission in which a pump and motor on each side power roller chains that turn both wheels on that side. The operator's two levers or joysticks set each side's pump independently; matching them drives straight, while opposing them spins the machine on the spot, the action that gives the type its name. The Wheel Assembly tyres are sized to slide cleanly during these turns.

The Loader Arm Assembly is a vertical- or radial-lift linkage raised by lift cylinders and curled by a tilt cylinder, both fed from the Hydraulic System system. A quick-attach plate at the arm tip lets tools swap in seconds, and the Auxiliary Hydraulics circuit powers driven attachments such as augers, brooms, and planers; a high-flow option supplies tools that need extra power.

The operator sits in a Cab Interior entered from the front over the lowered arm, protected by a ROPS/FOPS structure with seat-bar interlocks that disable hydraulics and drive when raised. The Electrical System system handles starting, charging, lights, and the attachment-control wiring at the coupler.
