Injection Molding Machine

Product

Overview

An injection molding machine produces plastic parts by forcing molten thermoplastic under high pressure into a closed mold cavity, where it cools and solidifies into the finished shape. It is the dominant process for high-volume plastic production, capable of cycling in seconds and holding tight tolerances across millions of identical parts. This is a horizontal hydraulic machine with a toggle clamp, the most widely used configuration, balancing fast cycling, high clamp force and good energy efficiency.

How it works

The machine has two functional halves mounted on the Machine Base Frame, a rigid welded bed that aligns them and absorbs the forces of injection and clamping. The Injection Unit melts and meters the plastic: a reciprocating screw rotates inside a heated barrel to plasticize incoming pellets, then drives forward as a ram to inject the melt through the nozzle into the mold.

Opposite it, the Clamping Unit holds the Injection Mold halves shut against injection pressure using a toggle linkage that multiplies cylinder force, then opens them and ejects the finished part. The application-specific mold defines the part geometry, the runner system and the cooling channels.

Motion and force throughout the machine are supplied by the Hydraulic Power Unit, whose pump, motor and valves pressurize oil for the screw, the clamp and the ejector. The full sequence, screw rotation, injection, hold pressure, cooling, mold open and ejection, is orchestrated by the Control System, which regulates barrel temperatures, injection velocity profiles and pressures to keep part quality consistent.

Electrical distribution, the motor starter and the heater contactors are housed in the Electrical Cabinet. Because the machine generates high clamp forces and exposes a hot melt stream, the moving and injection zones are enclosed by the Safety Guard System, whose interlocked gates stop the cycle whenever they are opened.
