Industrial Planetary Mixer Product
Overview
An industrial planetary mixer is the heavy mixing workhorse of a commercial bakery or food plant. A single agitator does the whole job, but it follows a planetary path: it spins on its own axis while that axis is swept around the bowl, so the tool reaches every point of the batch without scraper arms or a rotating bowl. The same machine whips light creams and kneads stiff bread dough simply by swapping the tool and the speed.
The batch sits in a deep stainless Mixing Bowl held in the Bowl & Lift Assembly, which raises the bowl to the tool and lowers it for charging and discharge. Power comes from the Main Drive, an induction motor coupled by belt into the Planetary Gearhead that generates the orbiting motion. A guarded Bowl Guard and an MCU Control Panel supervise the run, and the whole machine stands on a cast Pedestal Frame.
How it works
The defining mechanism is the Planetary Gearhead. Inside its housing, the Agitator Shaft is driven through a planet gear that rolls inside a fixed ring gear; because the gear that carries the shaft also revolves, the tool spins while the Planet Carrier walks it around the bowl. The output shaft ends in a bayonet socket, so the operator drops in a Wire Whip for aeration, a Dough Hook for kneading, or a Flat Beater for general mixing.
Rotation begins at the Main Drive: the Mixing Drive Motor turns a poly-V belt to the planetary head, and a stepped pulley selects the speed band — slow for heavy dough, fast for whipping. Loading and unloading use the Bowl & Lift Assembly, where a gearmotor turns a ball-screw to lift the bowl cradle up to the running tool and back down.
Because a planetary tool spins fast at the bowl rim, the machine cannot run with the bowl exposed. The hinged Guard Cage carries an interlock switch wired through a relay; lift the guard and the drive is cut before a hand can reach the agitator. The operator sets speed, time, and recipe on the Control Panel panel, which reads the interlock and ramps the motor through each mixing stage.
